Providing meaningful, low-barrier settlement support to refugees as they navigate new lives in Canada
Canadian Connections is a not-for-profit run by a team of volunteers with significant experience in refugee resettlement. We came together in August 2021 to support Afghan families fleeing the Taliban. Our goal is to bridge the gap between what the government can provide and what these families will require to settle in Canada. Beyond meeting immediate needs, we aim to foster connections between newcomers and Canadian people, resources and organizations that can help. Please help us further this mission by donating or volunteering!
Our Impact
Since August, we have helped over 70 families get clothing, access medical attention, enroll in ESL instruction and jobs training programs, find jobs and move into new their new homes. Read some stories about the newcomers we are helping and a recent move-in day for one happy family.

We are currently raising funds to help families get settled in their new homes. Besides buying furniture and other housewares, your donations will go towards stocking pantries, renting moving trucks and securing storage for donated items.

We are also seeking donations of gently used and new items.

* Donations of used items must be in like-new condition, with no stains, tears or damage. Fabric items need to be freshly laundered. Please clean the soles of footwear.
