EMAIL MESSAGE SENT TO: Afghans wanting to relocate to Canada
EMAIL SENT FROM: Immigration Canada
EMAIL DATE: Wed, Jul 28, 2021, 11:56 AM
The Government of Canada has announced a temporary Public Policy to resettle Afghans who were integral to Canada’s efforts in Afghanistan in Canada. Please note that this Public Policy is intended for Afghan nationals residing in Afghanistan.
To find out more information on the Public Policy, please refer to the link here.
Starting from the date of this message, you have three days (72 hours) to send your completed application package.
If you do not provide a completed application package within the next three days, we will conclude that you are not interested in participating in this Public Policy.
Under Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, a family member is defined as:
(a) the spouse or common-law partner of the person;
(b) a dependent child of the person or of the person’s spouse or common-law partner; and
(c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b).
A dependant child is:
· less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner, or
· 22 years of age or older and has depended substantially on the financial support of the parent since before attaining the age of 22 years and is unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition.
You should also include all persons who may not meet the definitions above but who reside in your household or may depend on you financially and/or emotionally (de facto family members).
If you are interested in this opportunity, please following these instructions to initiate the application for resettlement right away. Please review the attached document on how to complete the primary forms. Please then use a computer to download and complete the following forms for you, your spouse (if you have one), and children (if you have them). If you have difficulties accessing the forms try downloading Adobe Acrobat:
1. IMM0008 – Generic Application Form for Canada and include all dependents. The form only has space for 5 people, however; if you have more than 5 people (not including de facto family members), complete one IMM0008DEP – Additional Dependants / Declaration Form for each additional family member.
2. Schedule A Background/Declaration Form for you and all dependants 18 years old and above. Note that Question 10 asks you to list all government positions you have held before or after retirement. Not providing information for the entire period or leaving gaps could delay your application.
3. IMM5406 – Additional Family Information Form for you and all dependants 18 years old and above.
4. Please include a scan of your Passport or Tazkira for every member of your family.
If you believe you have de-facto family members that qualify as dependants, please complete the attached form by describing how this individual is dependant upon you financially and/or emotionally. Please include a scan of the passport or Tazkira for every de facto family member. Please do not complete other forms for them yet.
